Partial Automation for Increased Production
As part of the test for the state-approved technician in the field of mechatronics, the graduates developed a device for time-efficient transponder production for MOBA Mobile Automation AG. As such, Jan Hoffmann, Sebastian Sturm, Simon Krapp and Thomas Grochowski realized a partly automated production line for the two-component encapsulation of RFID transponders in 2016. This device was extended by a packaging device with this year's project by Johannes Lippert, Dennis Mayer, Tobias Andre and Pascal Schleuning.
Growing Demand Requires Production Expansion
The reason for both projects was the considerable increase in demand. In 2015 a total of 850,000 transponders of the most common variants were required. In 2016 the customer requirement had already risen to 1.2 million. The devices are used daily in the newly expanded production hall of MOBA Mobile Automation AG. In the future, increasing order numbers will thus be easily covered in the in-house production.
Last year, not only processes were partly automated, but the entire production hall was enlarged and modernized. With these expansion measures, the global player is adapting to its continuous, international growth. Thanks to the student work, the company has not only been able to optimize processes but also to win a new employee. Sebastian Sturm was immediately convinced by the work environment and is now responsible for the production line.
RFID Technology Conquers the Waste Disposal Market
RFID transponders are chips, which are used to identify waste containers during waste disposal. Mounted on each waste container, they provide information about the owner, location and other relevant information for the disposal company. Shortly before the container is emptied, the disposal personnel is informed in real-time about the container by means of advanced RFID technology on the vehicle. In this way, citizens and waste disposal companies benefit from more transparency of the collection procedures and a pay as you throw (PAYT) principle. Combined with the intelligent telematics and leveling technology of MOBA Mobile Automation AG, this solution provides integrated solutions for the global concept of Smart Cities.
